Sigil Magic

Sigil Magic is a branch of Chaos Magic. It’s extremely easy–once you know how–although it is less powerful than some other forms of Magic.

A sigil is simply a physical symbol of an individual’s intention. The Pentacle and Pentagram are both Sigils, as are most religious symbols. These are visual representations of belief that hold great power.

Creating a sigil is simple and there’s not a wrong way to do so. There are a four phases to create a sigil of your very own. A sigil that you create yourself is extremely more potent than those that another individual has created. Part of the beauty of sigil magic is that it is individualistic. That is to say that what may resonate with you may not necessarily resonate with another person. Magic is a personal practice, and as such must be tailored to each practitioner.

The 4 Phases:

1. Statement
2. Creation
3. Activation
4. Destruction

Things you will need:
– Paper
– Writing Utensil

Statement

The first step is probably the most important, and the one that is most often overlooked. You must begin with a positive, action statement. This can be as simple as “I am a healthy weight”, or “I am in an emotionally fulfilling relationship”, etc.

The importance in this step is to use ACTIVE statements.

It is also important to use present tense. Time is a man-made construct. The universe exists outside of time, and time means nothing to the Deities and Energies around us. To take it back to English class, you do not want PASSIVE statements. Phrases like “I will lose weight” or “I will eventually find someone for me” are going to be rendered ineffective and you will find that they do not often work. With any kind of manifestation, it is imperative to use present tense.

What are your goals? I’ve listed some suggestions for goals and positive action statements that you may want to use.

Job – “I have a job that I love”
Love – “I attract positive people to me”
Health – “I am healthy”
Weight Loss – “I am a healthy weight” or “I have reached my fitness goal”
Money – “I am financially stable” or “I make more money at work”
Success – “I am successful in all of my endeavors”

Do not use phrases like “I am not poor”, “I am not overweight” or “I want to be wealthy”. These phrases use negative words (“poor”, “overweight”) and the “not” will end up getting lost in the Universe. The “want” merely translates to a lack of something to the Universe and that will override your actual intention. “AM” “HAVE” “DO”: these are all excellent present tense action words. Also, the

CREATE

Now you’re going to write down your statement. I am going to be using the phrase, “I am mentally healthy”.

The next step is to cross out the vowels, aeiou/y. Your phrase should look something like this:

I am mentally healthy

In this instance, I have decided to keep the “Y” because it is repeated and is in both of my key words. Grammatically speaking, the letter “y” is considered to be a consonant when the syllable it is in already has a vowel. Whether or not you identify “Y” as a vowel is up to you and your preference.

Next, we are going to cross out any repetitions of our consonants.

I am mentally healthy

This leaves us with:

M N T L Y H

The next step is to draw a circle. It doesn’t have to be a perfect circle, but it should be a consistent line with no breaks. At this point, you begin using these letters to fill in the circle. These can be in any order. Some people go from Left to Right, or Right to Left. I personally like to use certain letters first, but it is entirely up to you.

Take your time with this. It may take some effort and you may have to try multiple times until you find a shape that resonates with you

The one I used is below:

Next, I like to mess with the sigil a little bit and make it more aesthetically pleasing. This is my preference, and I enjoy it. If you’re not an artistic person, you absolutely do not have to do this. During this process, you may not be able to really even notice most of the letters that you originally started with.

I liked this symbol because of the resemblance to an umbrella. Protecting me from unhealthy thought patterns and things that might upset my emotional health.

Once you’ve finished creating and drawing your symbol to your preference, it is time to move on to the next phase

ACTIVATION

Activation, or charging, is a vital step. You can use several different methods to do this. The primary methods are Emotion, Fluid, and Meditation.

To charge your sigil with Emotion, you simply need to focus on the symbol while experiencing any significant or strong emotion. This can be during a period of extreme sadness, happiness, anger, or joy. Whenever you feel these strong emotions building up, simply focus on the sigil you have created, as well as the intention behind it, and visualize the energy pouring out of you and into the sigil.

Fluid is the simplest. This can be any type of bodily fluid that is yours. Blood, sweat, saliva, tears, or sexual fluids can all be used to charge your sigil. Simply focus on the sigil and meditate on your intention while applying the fluid to it.

Meditation is the most difficult for me to do. My mind is always running and thinking of ideas, so stilling it to the point of meditation is nearly impossible. I still try to do this at least once daily, but it’s just not my strong suit. However, if you are already practiced and familiar with meditation, then you would simply focus on your sigil during your meditation time. Remember to focus not just on the sigil, but on the intention behind it.

DESTRUCTION

This process involves releasing the energy that your sigil has collected back into the universe. Fairly straightforward, I find it best to use either Earth or Fire for this, but there are many ways. Just remember to be environmentally conscious.

Fire: Burn your sigil (while being safe of course). You can do this outside, on your altar, or somewhere of significance to you. You can also combine this step with the element of Air and release the ashes into the wind.

Earth: If you have a garden or plants, you can bury the paper containing your sigil in the earth. This is interesting, because the plant is then a physical manifestation of your intention. While caring for the plant, you can remember the sigil in its roots and as your plant grows, so will your intention.

And that’s all there is to Sigil Magic! I hope this was instructive and formative! I encourage you to go check out some other videos on YouTube like Witchtailz or Stargirl The Practical Witch .

Blessed Be and Good Vibes!
